Officer Role

 

An officers role is to support and assist the GM and Co-GM in making the guild run smoothly and maintain guild standards. This includes providing feedback to them if you aware of any developing issues.

 

Rights

 

Officers have the right to promote, demote and kick members below their rank. Senior Officers have access to the Guild Bank glass tab for sale of items to guild members at 50% of the current AH price. Plz send items c.o.d. and notify BigbadBanker.

 

Duties

A couple of addons that may be useful to you are GuildCheck and Alts

 

Try and aknowledge people when they log in, particularly when they say hello to everyone.

 

Try to acknowledge people’s achievements – especially the big ones.

 

Moderate guild chat – step in if it starts getting offensive (ie extremely crude language and/or derogatory personal comments).

 

Try and diffuse the situation – be polite but firm, and tell them to take it out of guild chat as it puts people off. if that doesn’t work, demote them one rank and put an officer note on them.

 

If the member/s involved are initiates, give them one warning and remove them if they continue to offend.

 

If the members involved are long term members it should be discussed with the gms before removal (unless of course the member involved has become so out of control) Use your judgement.

 

Be tolerant – some members may be annoying but this is not necessarily deliberate on their part. Remember we do not know the personal details of our other members – ie: age – race- culture -disabilities or medical conditions.

 

Have patience – the same questions may be asked repeatedly – unless a deliberate windup just answer as best you can or refer them to resources such as Wowhead, Icy Veins, Noxxic or Ask Mr Robot.

 

Specific duties

 

Bill is guild bank controller – he organises – clears – keeps it stocked where possible and vendors/auctions items not used or needed

 

If anyone sees high level items that have been deposited in the main tabs, please move them to the glass tab and Bill will organise them.

 

Up to now Rose has been the one to do promotions and cleanups on a regular basis – we think it a good idea to have one or two officers to take this over (working together ) – to keep the promos and removals running smoothly

 

One thing we can all do is keep an eye on the request part in the roster – it’s so hard to catch people online – so if people could make it part of their daily routine it would be great  .
