Reins of the Ochre Dreamtalon
The quest chain to obtain this mount is 23 days.
The Smoldering Sprout begins the process of getting the Reins of the Ochre Dreamtalon / Ochre Dreamtalon.
It can be found at /way #2200 48.68, 67.90
When you interact with it, and put out the flames, it turns into the Blackened Sprout
You’ll interact with it one more time to brush it off, at which point it will turn into the Sprout, and the first quest ‘ Some Water…’ will pop up.
This will send you to Professor Ash in Amirdrassil at /way #2200 49.59, 62.81
If you can not interact with the trainer, you may need to progress the storyline if you have not done so. ( Chapter 5)
Some Water… Nurse the plant back to health.
Go to the Herbalism Trainer NPC, Professor Ash, who will have a new dialogue option asking about the plant.
You will be able to pick up the Water Bucket to the left of the NPC.
It will then appear in your bags.
Take the Unfilled Bucket to 51.11, 65.70; the center of the spiral under the tree.
Use the item to fill it with water. The item will change to Filled Bucket in your bags.
Take the Filled Bucket back to the Sprout, click on it and use the new dialogue option to use the bucket
The Sprout will become a green NPC instead of a previous neutral one.
You should see a new bar appear on top of it called, Plant Phase Growth.
If you talk to the Sprout now, the dialogue page will now say, “The plant is looking green and dewy from the potent water you’ve provided. Perhaps in the near future, you can help it further.”
The bar that appeared on the Sprout, should fill up by a fifth every day, taking 5 days to fill up to trigger the next quest.
‘A Dash of Minerals…’ Collect 5 Fish Bones from Fathomless Lurkers.
Go to the Herbalism Trainer NPC again, Professor Ash, will be offering this quest.
If you check the sprout, you will notice that it has grown and become a Dewy Sapling.
For the quest, you need to go to 51, 31 or take the Eye of Ysera flight point.
Use a swimming mount like the Cryptic Aurelid since it is a far distance down and the mobs are pretty spaced apart.
Once there, you will need to kill Fathomless Lurker to get 5 Fish Bones.
It is NOT a 100% drop chance.
Fly back to the Central Encampment to turn in the quest at Professor Ash, who has moved to be next to the Dewy Sapling at 48.74, 68.01.
Another Plant Phase Growth bar has appeared on the Sapling and should follow the same process as the one before.
Filling up a fifth every day, taking another 5 days to trigger the next quest.
‘ The Right Food …’ Bring some fertilizer for the plant.
You will pick up this quest from the Dewy Sapling.
The first step has you talk to the Herbalism Trainer NPC, Professor Ash, who should be right next to the sapling.
You will get an item, Ash’s Recipes to Delight and Nourish Your Plant Pals in your bags.
It will tell you the 3 items you need to get in order to make fertilizer.
You can get 5 Tel’Abim Banana from Saelienne back in the Central Encampment at 49.87, 61.65.
You can get 3 Turtle Eggshell Shards by clicking on Turtle Egg objects on the ground.
You can find them around the Cantankerous Turtle area at 41.15, 75.97.
Basically near the Moon Tulip Emerald Bounty.
You can get 5 Lasher Plant Matter by killing Fenblossom Lashling & Fenblossom Lasheraround 56.46, 55.18.
Once you have all three items, you should be able to combine them into Combined Fertilizer Ingredients.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to click the Lasher Plant Matter to combine them so you do not eat the bananas.
Now, you just keep it in your bags for the next 3 days while waiting for it to compost.
After 3 days (72 hours) since you created the Fertilizer, it will turn into Primed Emerald Dream Fertilizer in your bags.
IMPORTANT: If the item appeared in your bags while logged in, DO NOT USE IT! You must log out completely then back in or you will NOT get quest credit. If you use the item and don’t get credit, you have to repeat the partial quest above and get a new fertilizer. Wait another 3 days (72 hours).
Return to the Dewy Sapling and when you interact with it, you will see a new dialogue option, Spread the fertilizer underneath the plant, select it.
You will have a 2 second cast to spread it and see a dirt animation around the base of the Sapling.
‘And a Pinch of Magic’ -Defeat Roottenders while they are under the effects of the Druidic Totem.
Go to Professor Ash in the Central Encampment to pickup the new quest.
Go to 63, 52 area to do the quest.
Make sure to remember to drop the totem before attacking the fire flowers and trees as the totem will work when they drop below 40% health.
Once completed, you will return to the sapling which has now grown into a Thriving Sapling.
Professor Ash is to the left of it, where you turn the quest in.
When you turn in the quest, a few things will occur.
The NPC will walk to the sprout and a colorful rain will happen.
Plus, the familiar bar returns above the sprout, for the last time… The NPC will say the following:

Return to Professor Ash who is back in his usual spot in the Central Encampment and pick up the final quest.
Now go to the sprout at 49, 68. You will notice a few changes.
One, several Dreamtalon & Dreamtalon Kit are now moving around.
Second, most important, the sprout has grown into Blooming Plant.
Talk to Professor Ash next to the sprout to turn in the quest.
After 23 days, you are now the proud owner of the Reins of the Ochre Dreamtalon!
