Protoform Synthesis is a new crafting system in Eternity’s End.
Protoform Synthesis allows you to gather reagents from many sources in Zereth Mortis to craft many Battle Pets and Mounts based after the zone.
How to Unlock the Protoform Synthesis System
The Protoform Synthesis system is part of the Cypher of the First Ones system, and it is divided in two parts, each unlocked after fully researching certain talents from the Cypher system.
Pet Crafting is unlocked after fully researching the Cypher talent Dealic Understanding.
Once the research is completed, Pocopoc will offer the quest ‘Protoform Synthesis’.
Simply escort Pocopoc to the Protoform Synthesis pet forge and you will unlock the system.
Mount Crafting is unlocked after fully researching the Cypher talent Sopranian Understanding.
Once the research is completed, the questlines ‘The Final Song’ and then ‘A New Architect’ will become available, starting with the quest ‘Finding Tahli’.
Completing both these questlines, ending with ‘A New Architect’, will unlock the mount crafting system.
Protoform Synthesis Forge Locations
There are two forge locations in Zereth Mortis, one for pets and one for mounts.
Protoform Synthesis Pet Forge – Synthesis Forge
The Synthesis Forge is located by a cave at 61.8 58.9, by the Doning Precipice, just south of Pilgrim’s Grace.

The Protoform Repository is located by a cave at 68.5 30.1, at the western area of the Arrangement Index.

Protoform Synthesis Reagents
All crafts made via Protoform Synthesis use the same item ratios:
A quantity of Genesis Mote (usually 100-500);
One Lattice corresponding to the type of creature you’re crafting;
One Rare Reagent from a specific location in Zereth Mortis.
All Protoform Synthesis reagents, with the exception of mount rare reagents, will start dropping once you unlock the Dealic Understanding Cypher of the First Ones research, and after completing the short quest ‘Protoform Synthesis’.
This includes reagents for patterns you do not have obtained yet, so you can start farming for any desired patterns as soon as you first enter in contact with the system.
Genesis Motes
Genesis Mote are the most common reagents for Protoform Synthesis.
Most mobs in Zereth Mortis will drop Genesis Motes, and you will naturally accumulate them as you complete activities through the zone.
Genesis Motes have a maximum stack size of 5,000
Schematics are needed to craft specific mounts and pets.
There are a multitude of them and each of them unlocks a single craft
Pattern is learnt on turning the pattern drop to the Forges
Several battle pet schematics—the Archetypes of various concepts, such as Archetype of Malice or Archetype of Satisfaction—will be immediately accessible in the forge.
If you’re aiming to collect one of everything, you’ll need a grand total of the following:
18100x Genesis Mote – drop from regular mobs
Good spot to farm is an area along Genesis Fields (42.21 74.16).
There are multiple portals spawn lots of scavengers and gorgers mobs.
